The goal of Emile Banks & Associates, LLC, is to achieve the best possible result for clients at a fair cost. We believe that early, aggressive, and thorough preparation is essential. Civil trial practice is an area that particularly holds Mr. Banks’ interest. “Although the vast majority of cases are settled, I treat every case as if it will be tried,” he said. “Every strategy I employ is geared toward the possibility that the case will ultimately end up in front of a jury. There are many litigators, but few can actually successfully take a case to trial.”

Mr. Banks thrives on achieving a fair and honest outcome for his clients. “Over the years, I have learned that my clients are not trying to escape obligation, but simply want to pay what is fair,” he said. “If I tell a client a case should go to trial, then I will push for a trial and a jury verdict. When cases should be settled, I will so inform the client. I have no need to run up billable hours. My goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for clients, without compromising my integrity.”

“I am committed to thorough and sensitive handling of complex matters with an emphasis on scholarly, efficient outcomes. I am at ease with the difficult medical issues which regularly exist,” Denise Harron said.

Denise M. Harron, an associate with Emile Banks and Associates, LLC, brings over 25 years of legal experience and her unique perspective as a combined attorney and registered nurse to deliver excellent results in practice areas including Worker’s Compensation, Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Ms. Harron, a native Pennsylvanian, moved to Wisconsin for the love of basketball when Marquette won the NCAA, receiving her undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Marquette in 1982, with State Certification as a Registered Nurse in Wisconsin since 1982. Thereafter, she specialized as a nurse in intensive care for complex surgical patients at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. She graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1988, and later studied mediation extensively in Marquette’s Center for Dispute Resolution Certificate Program, as well as at Harvard University Law School’s Program on Negotiation for Lawyers.

“I learned early on how to manage the tensions brought about by conflict and litigation because my father worked as a catastrophic claims adjuster, and he brought me to see the aftermath of disasters firsthand, so I learned to appreciate the realities of suffering through compassionate eyes.” Ms. Harron says as a lawyer, “I am committed to thorough and sensitive handling of complex matters with an emphasis on scholarly, efficient outcomes. I am at ease with the difficult medical issues which regularly exist.”

As a graduate of Marquette, Ms. Harron also considers it a blessing and obligation to be in service to others, as so many mentors have been to her. She is delighted to have been teaching and learning for the past 15 years as a volunteer supervisor to the Marquette Law School’s Mediation Clinic, where law students handle mediation of cases in Circuit Court. She also serves as an Arbitrator for the Wisconsin State Bar Fee Arbitration Panel. Ms. Harron serves the community of Whitefish Bay as a member of the Police Commission since 2002 and handles teaching and speaking engagements in a variety of settings.

Karri Johnson has been with Emile Banks & Associates, LLC, since August 2007.  Her practice, ever since working as a law clerk and up until now, has been in insurance defense litigation.  Ms. Johnson has always represented “the insurer” and has defended against a large variety of claims including personal injury (slip and fall, carbon monoxide, traumatic brain injury), motor vehicle accidents resulting in injury and/or property damage, construction defects, premises liability, governmental entity liability, municipal liability, worker’s compensation and liability in an agricultural setting.  In practicing on behalf of insurance companies her entire carrier, she also has extensive subrogation law experience, has handled many questions on insurance coverage and also has experience in life insurance claim disputes and the resulting litigation.  In representing her clients, Ms. Johnson is certainly aware of the costs associated in taking a case from its inception to its conclusion whether settled before trial or when a case needs to be tried to a jury, and she is always looking for creative ways to ensure her clients’ goals are met and budgets adhered to.  Also, since Ms. Johnson has worked as both in-house and outside counsel, she knows the challenges claims adjusters and staff attorneys face in managing their caseloads and she does all she can to make their jobs easier by making sure they are well-informed of the status of each case she handles, its value, case strategy and the risk associated therewith at every stage.

Prior to becoming an Associate with Emile Banks & Associates, LLC, Ms. Johnson was in-house counsel for American General Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She also practiced at Matthiesen, Wickert & Lehrer, SC in Hartford, Wisconsin.

Ms. Johnson is a 2002 graduate of Marquette University Law School and a 1998 graduate of Marquette University – College of Arts and Sciences, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Law Studies.

Ms. Johnson is licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin, and has also been admitted to practice in the United States District Courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.

In Ms. Johnson’s personal time, she enjoys spending time with her young son, Sam, and husband, Jeff.
